I watched a clip today (www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I0QN-FYkpw) about a man who predicted the downfall of our economy. It was interesting what struck me.
This man was speaking out of his convictions and was not turning to the left or to the right. And for years, he was the only one representing his side. He was literally being laughed at on national television and being called a pessimist and many other things. People thought that he was just rambling about things he did not know, and his explanations were not given any consideration.
Then the economy fell. He was right. And everyone who had wanted to make bets against him, everyone who had laughed in his face, everyone who had blatantly and proudly opposed him was put to shame. And the truth prevailed.
Lord, make me more like this man. But give me a willingness to stand for higher Truth than the state of our country's economy. Give me the fortitude to stand in the midst of a proud and perverse generation. Give me poise to face the laughter and mockery. Give me a humble and gentle spirit. Give me boldness to seek and to proclaim your truth. Help me to speak your truth with conviction even when I am the only one--even when people are laughing at me on national television.
Lord, I will not be put to shame because Your Truth is eternal Truth. And Your way will prosper. What You have said will come to pass. Only allow me to be faithful.
