I just got an email from American Education Services (they service student loans for Bank of America). The header of the message read in big, bright letters - "You've finished grace!" I knew what they were referring to - the 6-month grace period before I need to start paying my loans off is coming to a close. It is time to begin to face my debt and pay off what I owe. The grace they extended was only for a season, and it has come time for me to bear the weight of my debt.
I received that email with joy. For one, I am ready and able to pay my debt. God in his infinitely more wonderful and sufficient grace has provided for me in all of my need. He provided those loans, and he has provided a job for me to bear the weight of paying them off.
My first thought when I read the header of the email from AES was, "I've finished grace? That's impossible!" I thank God that there is no end to His grace. Everyday, his grace sustains me. Everyday, his grace gives me life and breath. Everyday, his grace takes my debt and casts it upon Christ who alone can bear it. His grace is completely sufficient, and it will never end.
"Grace, grace! God's grace! Grace that will pardon and cleanse within. Grace, grace! God's grace! Grace that is greater than all my sin!"
