faithful

Our God is faithful. In the world, in the big picture of our lives, and in the intimate and relatively mundane details. He is faithful, and He will remain faithful.

In this picture are two deeply moving examples of our God who blesses His people with good gifts. Two examples of a God who answers prayer. Two examples of our God who keeps His promises.

God answered the prayers of Erik and Donna Thoennes. They are now holding Caroline in their arms. God answered the 25 years of prayers of the body at Grace. They are now watching the walls go up on their new church building.

I'm blessed to have seen the Lord's faithfulness this weekend. Even in the small details--when the Lord provided a ride to the airport after I fruitlessly asked everyone I knew last night (less than an hour after my friend had prayed that God would provide a ride for me soon).

Lord, help me to be faithful--but not so that I would be blessed. Help me to be more and more faithful, trusting in Your great faithfulness, and Your great goodness and kindness and power and sovereignty. Thank you for showing me my great unfaithfulness and drawing me to a closer walk with You. Keep me, Lord Jesus.

More marks of God's faithfulness in my life and the lives of people I love...

God is good. And ALL He does is good. Thank you, Jesus, for allowing that goodness to overwhelm my life even now by Your sacrifice which gave me access to God. He is my all in all and my only perfect goodness.
